I have Altan’s _Island Angel_ in the player now. Just got back from a concert where they sang “Danny Boy” and “When Irish Eyes Are Smiling”–shudder–and I needed something to clear my head.

    • Ach! Your good taste continues to impress me. I recently saw an Altan concert here in Madison and was most impressed. I’ve recently been getting into some other Celtic music (The Chieftains, Dervish, Clannad), and I’ll definitely be snagging some Altan…er…next time I have a heap of cash lying around demanding to be spent, that is ;).

Jeff: I know what you mean. That Tin Pan Alley stuff is to real Irish music what canned ravioli is to real Italian food.

Sean: You smite me with envy! I’ve never seen Altan live. Madison must be a fun town.
