Fire and Sleet and Morlock

Intrepid editor Lou Anders has just put up a new Morlock story, “Fire and Sleet”, which explains what happened to the phoenix after “A Book of Silences”. It also contains helpful hints on keeping people from reading your mind while you play poker, avoiding fiery death in the claws of immortal predators, etc. News you can use!

    Better to read this before or after Blood of Ambrose, do you think? (By trying to remain spoiler-free, I’ve learned next to nothing about BOA, except that Morlock is in it.)

    I just read and thoroughly enjoyed both of these. I’m very much looking forward to getting my mitts on Blood of Ambrose.

    Avoiding fiery death is a bonus. A delicious, delicious bonus.

    Morlock has a good rogue gallery in this texte.
    I don’t read all the Morlock stories. I want to know is characters like Callion or Korax appear in other stories.

      I’m glad you liked it!

      There are some earlier stories from Morlock’s career where people like Callion, Noreê and Bleys show up a lot. Most of those have not been published.

      I wrote Korax for this story, but he and Morlock have obviously known each other a while–he may show up again sometime.

    Morlock does have a gift for horking up other people’s plans. Kinda Gandolfed his way out of that one. Well done.

      I had a sort of idea that these might begin a subseries in which Morlock travels south to Qajqapca. But that’s on a pretty distant back burner at the moment.
